Happy New Year Everyone! 💛✨
It’s that time of the year again. We’re back to the 1st month. A Fresh start in so many ways. We’ve more than likely reflected all through December and now, after much thought and celebrations, we’re approaching 2024 with renewed focus, optimism and determination.
When I thought about my first blog post of the year, personal success came to mind. So many people; divine and unique with personal missions to accomplish, will surely bring countless versions of success. So!
What does success mean to you?
Generally we all know what “being successful” looks like. But if we strip that all away including the judgements of others, what would success really look like to you personally? What would it feel like? This is a question I’ve asked myself a lot. Like what would really bring me fulfilment? What would truly make me super proud of myself? It’s so easy falling into the trap of doing things based on the perception of success. I’ve done it myself. I went to university and got a degree in sociology and criminology (which I swore I was quitting every year) when I should’ve just continued my studies in music to follow on from my sound engineering qualifications. You live and you learn ay…
Listen to the whispers of your heart.
There’s magic in doing something you truly desire, passionate about or talented in. It beats trying to mimic the success of others and also protects from the disappointment when things don’t turn out like it has for others.
Honour who you truly are
As much as we connect with our families and friends and have mutual interests. The way we experience the world is special and unique. Our energy is like a signature that distinguishes and links back to who we are. It exceeds race, culture, gender etc. We are much more than that. So it takes us back to the questions of what do I want? What do I like? What makes me happy? What do I want to achieve? What do I want to create? And when you get your answers stand by them. Honour them. Take the steps to make it happen! And although it’s wonderful being understood, It’s not for others to understand. As long as you know what it is that’s all that matters.
Don’t allow the opinions and short-sightedness of others discourage you!
Your success can be big, small, simple or elaborate as you want it to be because at the end of the day it’s your vision for your life; your success and no one else’s. Trust yourself.
Cheers to a fulfilling year!
